Abiding Nowhere

Walking purposefully and very, VERY slowly through pastoral scenes and urban landscapes, the Buddhist monk in the art film Abiding Nowhere makes us reflect on the passage of time and the fact that most people never take the time to slow down and really look at life. It also echoes the way Buddhist thought was spread throughout India and Asia, but mostly, it’s just a beautiful, poetic and contemplative piece about how time never stops, and we are merely passing shadows on the landscape. As Scot and I contemplate retired life, and even have had literal discussions about where we want to finally live, this film spoke to me in profound ways. Should you ever get a chance to see it, in this instance, do NOT walk slowly: run. 😀

  1. Hi Dale and Scot, we’ll definitely check out the film. Hope you’re both adjusting well to your new routines and adjusting to being back in the ussr. Let’s get together next time we’re in Chicago, skip
