Our Retirement Begins

Our retirement date seemed so far in the future. Until it wasn’t. Suddenly, we’re just one day ahead of the final working day of our lives. It’s both exciting and weirdly alarming. After all, we have been working for our entire adult lives and planning our careers has been a given for over 40 years now.

Suddenly, we’re stepping off the dock where we have tied our career boats without fully knowing what’s in the water below our feet or if our retirement boat is solid and safe, of it it might spring an unexpected leak. But it’s time and we’re forging ahead with trust in our plan and in ourselves.

Dale and I have been together for more than 30 years now and we’re looking forward to spending the next chapter of our lives on a retirement adventure that continues our travels around the world and allows us to spend more time working on our personal writing projects. Starting in a few days, we will begin “Our Retirement Sojourn” that will literally take us around the world over the course of four months, including: Egpyt, Jordan, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and Hawaii.
