Brave Decisions

Scot and I were very anxious about retiring. We were also nervous about the inclusion of Egypt and Jordan in our travel plans. And yet, upon landing in Cairo, all those fears seemed to melt away in the presence of this ancient, fascinating city. Indeed, upon mentioning our concern that this part of the trip would actually happen, our seatmate on the plane, a man born and raised in Cairo, said simply, “why?” And I had to ask myself, yes, really, Why? For a long time I had in my cubicle at work a quote that said something to the effect of, are not the bravest among us also the most terrified? This city is so wondrous and amazing already, that I feel my fears melting away. I’m so glad we finally pushed through our fears and came.
